If you came to this page looking for poker instruction or poker classes, we no longer offer that service from this site. We do have a significant amount of how to play poker content on this site, and we're confident the strategy information on Poker Check Raise will help take your game to the next level. If at some point we do begin to offer lessons again, we'll announce it on this page of the site.

In the meantime, if you're a complete beginner to poker, we recommend getting your feet wet and learning to play online at PokerStars' free poker site. You can familiarize yourself with the software and the betting action there without risking any money at all. Strategy adjustments will need to be made when you start playing for real money, since real money changes the texture of the game significantly, but it's a great way to learn the basics of how to play.

Poker Rules Tutorials

On the main PokerStars site, you can find the rules for the most common poker games, including Texas Holdem, Omaha, Stud, HORSE, and Razz. The rules tutorials in that section are clearly written and beginner friendly, so be sure to check them out. They also offer a great poker glossary, and learning the vocabulary of poker will inevitably improve your play.

Poker Coaching and Learning

You might be able to find a poker teacher or coach online by doing a search for "poker coaching". At this point we don't offer referrals or suggestions as to who you might use for this type of service, but we do recommend spending some time getting to know a potential poker coach and not signing up for any kind of long-term instruction until you're sure that the player who's coaching you is a fit for your temperament.
